ASSESSMENT GUIDE

Before you book an assessment

Start with what you need to understand and who will use the report.

Confirm the complete pathway

  • Ask whether the appointment is screening, diagnosis, cognitive testing or support-needs assessment.
  • Confirm ages accepted, in-person requirements and who signs the report.
  • Ask whether another clinician must review the report or complete a separate assessment.
  • Check with the intended recipient before assuming a report will meet school, workplace, funding or prescribing requirements.

Get a written total

Ask whether the fee covers interviews, questionnaires, testing, feedback, the written report and any later clarification. Check cancellation charges, payment timing and any additional review costs directly with the provider. Published examples are not quotes or rebate guarantees.

Check access and timing

Ask about the date of the first appointment, time to the final report, telehealth suitability, interpreters, sensory accommodations, physical access and breaks. A provider's report turnaround time is not the same as their waiting list.

Check the person, not only the practice

Request the assessor's name, profession, registration details and relevant training. Read our assessor credentials guide for official registers and training links.

This directory does not book appointments, receive clinical records or forward enquiries. Contact the provider directly using the details on their profile.
